"Needy" a poem

This is a poem that I wrote a long time ago, but I just found it, so I decided to post it up here for record sake.

 

"Needy"

I get so annoyed

by everything you do

you think that you know me

but you really have no clue

 

your so optimistic

but I like to keep it real

you pick yourself up quickly

but I need time to heal.

 

I want more adventure

I cant stand this tiny town

you love where we are

but I don't want to settle down

 

you are so dramatic

and I try and keep things chill

you have so much energy

why cant you just sit still?

 

you insist on calling me

every single day

I let you ramble on and on

because I have nothing to say

 

I don't want commitment

I think your moving "us" too fast

I'm a different girl

from all those in your past

 

I'm too independent

but you claim I'm what you "need"

I just want some breathing space

to get back in the lead

 

maybe in the future,

we can figure something out

but right now I  don't know

my head is filled with doubt

 

there's no need to rush

or go the extra mile

lets just see how it works out

we've still got a while

 

I'm not saying that its over

I'm not saying that were done

but lets just take one step back

and have a little fun.
